📣The slate
Yesterday's chip bounce lasted one session. Korea handed it back.
Iran is threatening the internet's plumbing now. Data-center names cooked.
Oil back at the door of triple digits. Gold sold anyway.
BlackRock bought the biggest day in weeks. Price shrugged.
Overnight longs paid for it. Small flush, no panic.
Zcash green while everything bleeds. Again.
Memes asleep. Worldcoin is the only thing with a pulse.
Tesla and Amazon green, Hynix red. Rotation, not a crash.
📉The tape
Red, quiet, long-heavy. Every major down 1% except ZEC. Monday's short squeeze got a next-day hangover and the overnight longs were the ones holding the bag.
| Perp | Price | 24h | OI | Funding/8h |
| BTC | 81,536 | −1.22% | $3.36B | 0.0100% |
| ETH | 2,394 | −1.28% | $2.57B | 0.0073% |
| SOL | 104.36 | −0.78% | $571M | 0.0021% |
| HYPE | 78.27 | −1.44% | $1.59B | 0.0100% |
| ZEC | 1,151 | +0.72% | $529M | 0.0100% |
Liquidations (Coinglass, 24h): $155.7M total, $107.9M longs (69%). Last 12h: $86.6M, 81% longs. Per coin: BTC $29.6M long / $6.6M short, ETH $24.0M / $12.2M, SOL $4.3M / $2.1M, ZEC $3.4M / $2.1M, HYPE $0.7M. Trader count and biggest single order not reported this run.
Mood: shrug. Funding at base, OI barely moved, $156M is a rounding error. Bears calling this the top need a lot more than a 1% red candle.
🏦Macro
Oil runs the room. WTI $99.85 (+1.9%), Brent $106.85 (+1.3%), the Iran war has no end date and now Tehran is threatening undersea cables. Gold $4,116 (−1.2%) and silver $56.89 (−1.2%) sold on a risk-off morning, which tells you the haven trade is crowded, not dead. Natgas −2.8%. The Fed under Warsh is still talking tough on a 3.7% inflation print with 10/28 a live hike, and the market has already priced the scolding. Yields: no clean dated print this morning, so no number.
📈Stocks
HIP-3 marks; "24h" spans Monday's cash session plus overnight. Monday cash close: Nasdaq +1.1% (26,431), S&P +0.4% (7,691), Dow −0.07%. Futures this morning: Nasdaq ~−0.5%, Dow slightly green.

Indices: Korea is the crime scene. KOSPI ~−4.3% on chipmakers, Nikkei −1.4%, Europe red. US futures only mildly hurt. Contained.

Semis/AI: the neoclouds got taken out back. CoreWeave −10%, Nebius −8%, Hynix −6.6% on the most volume of any HIP-3 stock ($337M). Undersea cables are the data-center trade's soft underbelly and the tape found it in one night. Tesla and Amazon bid into Tesla's Wednesday print. Rotation inside big tech, not an exit.
Defense: PLTR 192.90 (+3.5%). War premium, as usual.
Consumer + crypto-adjacent: HOOD 94.71 (−5.7%), COIN 166.38 (−5.5%), CRCL 80.25 (−4.6%), MSTR 134.06 (−3.9%), SPCX 146.55 (−1.0%). Crypto equities fell 4x harder than crypto. Beta works both ways.
₿Bitcoin
- 81,536, −1.2%. Low-80s range holds. 80K is the floor everyone's watching; lose it and the forced sellers show up, hold it and Monday's ETF bid is the real story.
- ETF flows (Farside): Monday +$526.7M, IBIT +$665.2M, FBTC −$83.6M. Biggest day on the board after a week of −$261M / −$82M prints. BlackRock bought, price didn't follow. Yet.
- Positioning: Hyperliquid OI $3.36B, funding at base 0.01%. BTC longs $29.6M rekt overnight. Nobody's levered into this; the bid is spot.
- Saylor: last filed buy was 250 BTC (Oct 12), smallest of 2026, 848,250 held. Strategy is slow-walking while MSTR trades 134. Monday filing watch.

- WLD 0.550 (+8.1%), $71M volume. The only real bid on Hyperliquid's >$20M board. No headline found; tape-only.
- NEAR 4.68 (−6.3%), $162M volume, funding negative. Worst major alt for the second time this month. Shorts piling in.
- Privacy trade alive: XMR 608.51 (+2.5%), ZEC green. When the tape is red, privacy is the hiding spot.
- LIT 3.17 (+2.6%) and VVV 24.28 (+1.6%) green on a red day. Perp-DEX and revenue names holding.
- STRK 0.0558 (−3.9%). Still the exit door post-unlock. ENA flat at 0.188, MON 0.0207 dead.

Memes flat, frogs lead. kPEPE +1.9% is the category's best and it's not saying much. Fartcoin −1.7%, the usual leader taking a day off.
pump.fun: PUMP 0.004455, just above the $0.004 ICO price, on $81M volume and $134M OI. Buybacks running, bonk.fun eating launch share (single source). Trenches quiet until BTC picks a direction.
🛡Zcash
- 1,151 (+0.7%). Green on a red board. Monday's breakout back over 1,100 is holding and nobody's selling it.
- OI $529M, funding 0.01%, $284M volume, more than ETH on Hyperliquid. $3.4M longs / $2.1M shorts rekt. Two-way, no panic.
- Catalysts: Zcon7 Oct 27–29 in Cancún, Zcash turns 10 on 10/28. ZCSH ETF registration still pending at the SEC. Hold 1,100 and the 1,200s are the next stop.
💧HYPE / Hyperliquid
- 78.27 (−1.4%), funding 0.01%, OI $1.59B. Only $0.79M liquidated. Boring, which is fine.
- HIP-3 is the macro venue now: SK Hynix $337M, SP500 $273M, NDX $271M, WTI $255M, SanDisk $208M in 24h. A Korean memory stock out-traded the S&P on a crypto DEX overnight. Generational.
- Catalysts: Payward (Kraken) US-entry talks, HIP-4 event contracts live. No fresh dated news this morning.
🤖AI & pre-IPO
- Pre-IPO perps: OpenAI 1,510 (−1.3%), Anthropic 1,950 (−0.8%). Anthropic holding up better on a day the AI complex bled.
- SPCX 146.55 (−1.0%) on $102M HIP-3 volume, still well above the $135 IPO. In focus premarket with the cable threat: Starlink is the obvious "what if the fiber goes" trade.
- Chip tape: NVDA 215 (−1.2%) held up; the damage is in neoclouds, memory and leveraged semis (SOXL −9%). Picks-and-shovels fine, the levered landlords are not.
- No fresh dated AI headline surfaced this morning. Tesla Q3 Wednesday is the next AI-adjacent print.
