📣The slate

- Oil faded the Iran headlines. Again.
- Shorts paid for crypto's day. Again.
- Zcash finished the round trip. Alarmingly strong.
- Memes green across the board. Frogs lead, Fartcoin lagging.
- Korea memory cooled off. Hynix gave some back.
- Saylor's stock ripped harder than the coin.
- ETF money came back. Bears still in denial.
📉The tape
Grind up, shorts paying. Everything green, funding pinned at base on every major, OI up across the board. BTC did the least; ZEC did the most.
| Perp | Price | 24h | OI | OI d/d | Fund/8h |
| BTC | 82,590 | +0.7% | $3.39B | +3.8% | 0.0100% |
| ETH | 2,437 | +1.5% | $2.62B | +1.2% | 0.0100% |
| SOL | 105.99 | +1.4% | $587M | — | 0.0100% |
| HYPE | 80.19 | +2.6% | $1.64B | +3.2% | 0.0100% |
| ZEC | 1,211 | +7.3% | $575M | +14% | 0.0100% |
REKT 24h $302M58% shortsETH $100MBTC $77MSOL $15MZEC $10MHYPE $0.9M
$302M liquidated, $174M of it shorts. The last 12h were worse for bears: $157M shorts vs $67M longs. ETH shorts alone $65M. Last 4h went quiet, $15M split even.
Mood: a squeeze dressed up as a rally, and that's fine. Base funding plus rising OI means nobody's chasing, which is exactly how these keep going.
🏦Macro
Oil blinked, stocks didn't care. Iran threatened undersea cables before the bell and crude still finished red: WTI $97.99 (−0.4%), Brent $105.20 (−0.8%). Gold $4,124 (−0.4%) took the day off, silver $57.86 (+1.4%) and copper +0.5% did the risk-on thing. The Warsh Fed has a hike live for 10/28 and the Dow put up 500 points anyway. Nobody's scared of the Fed. They're scared of oil, and oil went down.
📈Stocks

- Positioning: OI $3.39B (+3.8%), funding base, $47M BTC shorts rekt vs $31M longs. Bears keep pressing a chart that won't break.

Launchpads: PUMP up two days running even with Bonk.fun out-launching pump.fun on Solana (single source, late Sept). Trenches warm, not hot.
🛡Zcash
- $1,211, +7.3%. Back over 1,200. Round trip done. The best chart on the board, again.
- OI $575M, up ~14% on the day, $365M volume, more than HYPE's. Funding at base. $7.1M shorts vs $2.9M longs rekt.
- Why: new money with no leverage premium yet. Shielded pool ~30% of supply. Zcon7 Oct 27–29; Zcash turns 10 on 10/28.
💧HYPE / Hyperliquid
- $80.19, +2.6%. Funding 0.01%, OI $1.64B (+3%). Only $0.9M liquidated. Boring and up.

- Catalysts: Payward/Kraken US-entry talks still the medium-term story; nothing new dated today.
🤖AI & pre-IPO
- OpenAI perp 1,512 (−1.5%), Anthropic 1,911 (−3.3%). Pre-IPO paper red on the debt-funded-buildout worry.
- SPCX (listed) 150.35, +1.5%, $148M perp volume. Holding the premium.
- Chip tape: NVDA flat, memory soft (Hynix −3.7%, MU −0.8%), MRVL +1.5%, DELL +1.7%, ORCL +1.4%, CoreWeave +2.2%. Storage names (WDC, STX) rose in cash trading.
- Tesla Q3 after the close Wednesday. That's the next AI-premium test.
