KOSPI −6% MEMORY SCARE · BANKS KICK OFF · CPI EVE
Tape as of 1:09pm CT (18:09 UTC) · Hyperliquid perps + HIP-3 · Coinglass · Farside · 24h
📣The slate
- Korea got cooked. Memory got cooked with it.
- BTC shrugged. Green while chips bleed.
- Yesterday's flush was all longs. Again.
- Saylor's still buying. Tiny clip, still buying.
- Every CT alt red. NEAR, LIT, VVV, STRK the worst of it.
- Memes flat and dead. kPEPE the only pulse.
- Banks printed. Goldman good, Wells not.
- CPI tomorrow. Nobody wants to be levered into it.
📉The tape
$700M liquidated, 80% longs. Then nothing. Bitcoin lost $82K on Monday, flushed the leverage, and spent Tuesday grinding back to 83.2k while Korea melted and Nasdaq bled. Last 12h only $93M rekt. The washout is done; the bid is thin.
| Perp | Price | 24h | OI | Funding/8h |
| BTC | 83,184 | +0.87% | $3.20B | 0.0100% |
| ETH | 2,507 | −0.23% | $2.71B | 0.0088% |
| SOL | 107.61 | −0.10% | $623M | 0.0071% |
| HYPE | 81.29 | −2.52% | $1.64B | 0.0100% |
| ZEC | 1,205 | −2.68% | $562M | 0.0100% |
Liquidations by coin (24h): ETH $122M longs / $40M shorts, BTC $112M / $53M, SOL $44M / $6M, ZEC $18M / $4M, HYPE $18M / $0.5M. ETH longs got hit harder than BTC longs. Third time this month.
Mood: hungover. Funding flat at baseline across the board, nobody chasing, nobody pressing. That is a market waiting on CPI.
🏦Macro
10Y 5.23%, Brent 103, CPI tomorrow, and the Fed is still in hiking mode. Yields camped near 24-year highs and nobody blinks anymore. WTI 93.28 flat, Brent 103.23 (−0.8%) with the Iran war grinding on. Gold 4,161 (−0.3%), silver 59.27 (−1.8%), natgas +5.4% because it's October. CPI Wed 8:30, PPI and retail sales Thu, FOMC Oct 28. A hot print and December hike odds go vertical. Mid-curve take: it's priced.

| CRCL | 84.55 | +1.86% |
| MSTR | 152.87 | −0.07% |
| SPCX | 157.07 | −4.46% |
- Indices: flat on top, rotten underneath. Dow ~−0.4% on bank earnings, Kospi −6.25% overnight. Korea is the story.
- Memory: disgusting. China's CXMT memory-tech headline hit the whole HBM complex. SK Hynix and Micron both −5%, SOXL −3.2%.
- Big AI: fine, actually. ORCL +4.4%, META +2.4%, NVDA green. The rotation is out of memory, not out of AI.
- Crypto-adjacent: quietly bid. HOOD, COIN, CRCL all green. SPCX −4.5%, the one ugly print.
- Banks: Goldman up on a beat, Wells Fargo down on a revenue miss, JPM and Citi out too. J&J −6% on a miss.
₿Bitcoin
- 83,184, +0.9%. Lost 82k Monday, back over 83k Tuesday. Bears had one day.
- ETF flows: still leaking. Mon −$65M (all IBIT), Fri +$21M, Thu −$244M, Wed −$485M. Net ~−$650M over five sessions. Tuesday not posted yet.
- Strategy bought 250 BTC for ~$21.5M. Smallest clip in a while, still a streak.
- Positioning: HL OI $3.2B, funding baseline. Longs washed, shorts not paid. Through 84k into CPI and this squeezes; lose 82k and the Monday low gets a retest.
- Korea contagion is the risk on the TL: a Kospi margin unwind leaking into crypto via retail brokerage accounts.

STRK −13%ZRO −8.8%NEAR −7.2%LIT −6.6%VVV −5.7%ONDO −4.8%PUMP −4.1%ENA −3.6%
- STRK 0.0853, −13%. Round trip. Last week's pump unwinding into Thursday's unlock. Exactly what you'd expect.
- NEAR 5.02, −7.2% on $402M volume, more than SOL. Second leg of a flush with no headline. Cooked.
- LIT 3.37, −6.6%; VVV 21.78, −5.7%. Last week's relative-strength names giving it all back. The squeeze never came.
- ENA 0.210 (−3.6%), MON 0.0243 (−2.0%), XMR 531 (−0.3%). XMR holding while ZEC bleeds, which is new.
- UNI +2.9% the only real green on volume. Fee-switch coin outperforming in a tape that hates beta. Revenue still wins.
🐸Memes
| Perp | Price | 24h | OI |

| USELESS | 0.1726 | −4.64% | $9M |
| CASHCAT | 0.1033 | −5.16% | $20M |
Memes: flatlined. Nothing is moving more than 3% up. kPEPE the only one with a pulse; Fartcoin's run from last week stalled.
PUMP 0.00499, −4.1% on $122M volume with $198M OI, the most levered meme on the board and leaking. Launchpad war: bonk.fun reportedly ahead of pump.fun on launches and revenue (single source). Trenches dead until BTC clears 84k.
🛡Zcash
- $1,205, −2.7%. Off 1,238 prev day. Lost the 1,220s; relative strength from last week gone for now.
- OI $562M, funding 0.01%, $336M volume. $18M longs rekt vs $4M shorts. Longs paid for the flush, not shorts.
- The setup: ZCSH spot ETF bid, shielded pool ~30% of supply, Zcon7 Oct 27–29 with the 10th birthday on 10/28. Hold 1,200 and this is a dip into the catalyst; lose it and 1,112 is the wick from last week.
💧HYPE / Hyperliquid
- $81.29, −2.5%. Funding 0.01%, OI $1.64B, $564M volume. Down ~12% from the 92s at the Oct 6 unlock. Slow bleed, not a dump.
- HIP-3 is where the action is. SK Hynix perp did $353M on the Korea crash, SanDisk $291M, NVDA $175M, Nasdaq-100 and S&P $167M each, Micron $164M. Traders went to Hyperliquid to short Korean memory. That's the venue thesis.
- Liquidations: $18M HYPE longs, $0.5M shorts. Bitwise's BHYP still the steady buyer.
🤖AI & pre-IPO
- OpenAI perp 1,665 (−1.9%), Anthropic perp 2,028 (−2.2%). Both drifting with the chip tape. Anthropic perp has $42M OI vs OpenAI's $5M: the market cares about one of these IPOs.
- SPCX 157.07, −4.5% (listed, Nasdaq). Still 16% over the $135 IPO price, but red on a day big AI was green.
- Chip tape: memory got hit by China's CXMT, not by AI demand. NVDA +0.4%, AMD +1.3%, MSFT +1.3%, ORCL +4.4%. CRWV −3.4%, NBIS flat.
- The read: the AI trade isn't breaking, it's rotating from memory to compute and hyperscalers.
🗞Headlines
- Kospi −6.25% on Chinese memory-chip advances from CXMT. Korea's index is a memory ETF now. Brutal.
- Bitcoin ETFs ~−$680M on the week while price held 82–84k. Flows bearish, price isn't. Divergence.
- Korea-to-crypto contagion warning: a brokerage margin unwind in Seoul spilling into crypto is the bear case on the TL today. Watch.
- Strategy adds 250 BTC (~$21.5M). The bid is shrinking, the streak isn't. Meh.
- Goldman beats, Wells misses as bank earnings open the season. Trading desks printing. Bullish.
- J&J −6% on an adjusted EPS miss; UnitedHealth up on a raised guide. Rotation.
- Oil off the highs, Brent near $105 cash, Iran war ongoing. Still elevated.
- Bonk.fun reportedly passing pump.fun on launches and revenue (single source). PUMP holders not thrilled.
